We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, and French level during account creation. We also collect usage data such as practice session history, scores, and vocabulary saved to your vault. Voice recordings are processed in real-time for transcription and are not stored permanently on our servers.
We use your information to provide and improve the FrenchShadow service, personalise your practice sessions, send you product updates (you can opt out anytime), and process subscription payments via Stripe. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store your card details.
We use the following third-party services: Google (authentication and AI transcription), Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (database and auth), and Gemini AI (language coaching responses). Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.
You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, or delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Account deletion removes all your personal data and cancels any active subscription.
We use cookies solely for authentication (to keep you logged in). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
